What happens when you take something often ignored—like roadside coconut vinegar in reused bottles—and give it the respect, care, and platform it deserves?

You get Sukang Waray.

You get a story of revival.

And you get a moment like IFEX 2025, where our once-unknown vinegar was featured in the prestigious Flavor Finds showcase, standing proudly beside global brands.

💡 The Heart Behind the Bottle

Sukang Waray isn’t just a product—it’s a story.

A story of coconut farmers who, for years, sold their vinegar in roadside stalls, using what little they had.

It was cheap. Dismissed. Unseen.

But behind those reused bottles was something rare:

Generations of knowledge.

Centuries-old tradition.

And a distinctly Waray flavor unlike anything else in the market.

So we bottled it again—this time with purpose, with quality, and with pride.

And the world took notice.

🌾 Talalora’s Forgotten Glory Is Coming Back

Talalora was once known as a copra capital in Eastern Visayas.

Cargo ships from Cebu would dock here, loading up tons of dried coconut meat. Chinese traders settled, businesses grew, and the coconut industry flourished.

But over time, as global demand changed, so did the town’s fate.

The ships stopped coming.

The market moved on.

And Talalora’s name faded from the map.

Until now.

With the global resurgence of coconut-based products, and with brands like Axel Integrated Farm leading with heart and heritage, Talalora is reclaiming its place.

✅ Training the Next Generation of Coconut Farmers

Success at IFEX is just the beginning.

To build real, long-term growth, we need innovation on the ground.

That’s why from May 27–29, 2025, we partnered with national and local agencies to train over 30 coconut farm owners and workers from seven barangays in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP).

This training is our first step toward PhilGAP certification—a key requirement for national and international market access.

👨‍🌾 Partners in the Mission:

  • ATI Regional Training Center 8
  • PCA Samar – Zyra Saberon & Jonathan Villanueva
  • DA-RFO 8 – Charmaine Licardo-Magno
  • Axel Integrated Farm – Jayson Pascual, lead speaker
  • LGU Talalora – Municipal Agriculture Office

Together, we’re laying the foundation for a more sustainable, certified, and community-driven coconut industry.

🌎 More Than Just a Vinegar

At Axel, we believe that small farms can dream big.

That rural communities can lead the way in sustainability.

And that a humble bottle of vinegar can carry the soul of a whole town.

Sukang Waray isn’t just tangy—

It’s bold. It’s honest. It’s home.

Thank you for supporting this movement.

Thank you for believing that farmer-made can be world-class.
